  3. REMOVING SENTRY 3.0
  4. If you have SENTRY 3.0 installed remove it to the TRASH. If installed correctly it will be found in the "StartUp" folder located in your "Systems" folder. Also remove SENTRY 3.0's preference file found in your "Preference" folder located in your "System" folder.

  6. NEW INSTALLATION:   
  7. The first step after you have copied the SENTRY 4.0 folder to your desktop is to "Rebuild" your desktop. As with any appication you should "Rebuild" your desk top so the proper ICONS will appear in the windows. This is done by restarting your Macintosh and holding down the "Option & Command" keys during startup. When asked if you wish to rebuild your desktop choose "OK". All this does is formally introduce your Mac to the new applications... then they will be friends for ever.

  9. SENTRY 4.0 comes with an interactive users guide found in the folder labeled "SENTRY 4.0 - User Guide". Open this folder and read the "Read Me" file first then launch the "SENTRY 4.0 - Play Me Guide" application to learn how to use SENTRY 4.0.

Because SENTRY 4.0 has a complete reworking I'm not going to mention history on versions earlier than (4.0). SENTRY now supports an editable Master Password and (6) definable User Passwords. You can choose a desired Alert Warning sound to warn off "Snoopers". You can set the number of attempts a user gets before SENTRY preforms a safe shut down of your Mac. You can also set the number of "DELAY" hours SENTRY will idle until it preformes a safe shut down of your Mac (So it's not left on all night). It has an online help database and in Apple Balloon Savy. SENTRY creates and maintains a Teach Text file in your Preference folder of all Startups, Wrong Passwords and Forced Shut downs. You can view and print this file with any text reading application like "Teach Text", "Simple Text", "Pagemaker" and so on.

  16. SENTRY 4.0 is shareware and will require a registration code to continue operating for more than (7) days. After (7) days Sentry will no longer operate...So please pay the fee. You can print a registration form right from SENTRY or print the Registration file included in SENTRY's folder.
